Profile

Susan Hendricks Grover has taught as an adjunct professors at BYU-Idaho since 1983. She has also worked for Madison School District in Rexburg, Idaho working with special services. In 2010, she earned a Ph. D. in education from the University of Idaho, College of Education. Her dissertation is entitled At the Crossroads: Portrait of an Undergraduate Composition Teacher Whose Heuristics Were Transformed by Computer Technology. She earned a M. Ed. from BYU-Provo. Her thesis is entitled Reading on the Utah Frontier, 1850-1877: The History of the Deseret Alphabet. She has been awarded the BYUI Adjunct Faculty of the Year award, as well as the TYCA West Part-time Teaching award. Susan and her husband live in Idaho Falls. They have four children and eight grandchildren. They enjoy outdoor activities including hunting (archery and rifle), fishing, camping, and snow skiing. She also enjoys reading and writing. Susan has had various leadership positions in her church. She also serves on the Bonneville County Community Literacy Councils as the president. Trained by Literacy Volunteers of American, she prepares volunteers to tutor reading in grades K-6. She has written a literacy tutor training manual, two college course manuals, and many articles.
